Howard & Howard Names Class of 2020 Shareholders

Royal Oak, Mich., January 9, 2020 – Following the end of a successful, anniversary celebration-filled year, Royal Oak, Michigan-based law firm Howard & Howard is pleased to announce its 2020 class of shareholders: Justin D. Gingerich and Michael D. Solt.

Named for their significant contributions to the firm, Justin and Michael continue their practices out of the Chicago, Illinois and Royal Oak, Michigan offices, respectively.

Justin advises publicly and privately held entities in corporate and commercial matters, ranging from drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a variety of commercial contracts to representing buyers and sellers in stock and asset acquisitions and strategic transactions. Justin counsels public reporting companies on disclosure duties, including SEC periodic reporting and regulatory compliance. He also advises private issuers in connection with exempt securities filings with the SEC and various state agencies.

“Justin has a wealth of legal and business knowledge, seemingly unlimited amounts of patience, and the objectivity necessary to evaluate all aspects of a transaction. Above all, he is eager to listen closely to clients, helping to meet their needs and goals. Justin is an extraordinary corporate attorney and we are lucky and proud to call him a partner.” – Mark B. Ryerson, Managing Partner of the Firm’s Chicago office

Michael concentrates his practice in intellectual property law with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution. In particular, he advises and strategizes with his clients to obtain meaningful patent protection in the United States and foreign jurisdictions. Additionally, he focuses his practice on counseling his clients in clearance/freedom-to-operate issues for both current and future product lines and various strategies for management of their global intellectual property portfolios. Michael joined Howard & Howard as an intellectual property intern, where he worked full-time during the day and attended law school in the evenings.

“Michael joined us as an IP Intern in 2012 while still in law school. He smoothly transitioned into an associate attorney role in our IP group in 2017. Michael’s growth over the past seven years has brought significant value to our firm and demonstrates what a successful professional he has become. We are excited for Howard & Howard’s future, and Michael’s commitment to our firm and clients has been, and will continue to be, an integral part of our success.” David M. LaPrairie, Partner and Head of the Intellectual Property Intern Program
