2. Governor's Action: The compromise was presented to the Governor at 1:30 am February 21, 2025, and she is expected to sign it.
3. Effective Date: The October 1 implementation date being reported by the media only applies to small businesses. The amendments are retroactive to midnight February 21, 2025, for all others.
4. Employer Impact: The amendment may have some favorable aspects for employers, but it will be important to understand the specifics of the changes and how they could impact your company’s policy.
