Mr. Villamar concentrates his practice in commercial and business litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, and appellate law.
He practices in both state and federal court,
and has tried many cases before the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Villamar’s primary duties consist of
handling a full caseload of general litigation matters, including commercial
and business litigation. He often works in tandem with in-house counsel,
and is directly involved in every step of the litigation process, including
conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, arguing motions before the
court, conducting all manner of discovery, negotiating settlements, drafting
settlement agreements, and otherwise preparing a case for trial. A considerable part of Mr. Villamar’s
professional time is spent researching and analyzing statutes, court rules, and
court precedents, and assessing how these impact his clients.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Villamar
worked in local New York City politics, and was a legislative aide for a New
York City Council Member. He received his J.D. from the University of
California, Hastings College of Law in 2003 and his B.A. from Cornell
University in 1997. He is fluent in Spanish and speaks, reads and writes
intermediate German. Mr. Villamar is licensed to practice in the States of
Nevada and New York and before the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada and
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
