New Associates
Do you possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to succeed?
We hire associates with an eye toward the future, recognizing the value those lawyers will offer our clients and our organization in the years to come. We look for bright, personable, and hardworking individuals who understand the complexities of legal work and can analyze problems objectively and craft creative solutions. Our associates possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to succeed. We seek attorneys with the interpersonal skills to contribute to a team, along with the initiative and self-confidence to work independently.
Associates at Howard & Howard are deeply committed to their careers. They strictly adhere to our professional standards and Strongly Held Beliefs, and devote themselves to vigorous representation of our clients’ interests. In return, the firm provides an environment in which their commitment is supported and rewarded.
As such, Howard & Howard is committed to providing one of the most generous compensation packages among law firms in our markets. The starting salary for a first-year associate attorney hired directly out of law school is $140,000 with a $5,000 signing bonus, and for a new associate completing a two-year federal clerkship, the salary is $160,000 with a $25,000 signing bonus. In the second and subsequent years, we set base salaries at one of four dollar amounts: $120,000, $140,000, $160,000, or $180,000. In addition, the firm offers yearly bonuses (paid semiannually) of up to $100,000 based on hours, working receipts, efficiency, business development efforts, and leadership skills. There is no fixed time frame to become a shareholder; while the norm is six years, in our meritocratic culture, it is possible to reach this level of achievement in less time.
We’re Always Looking for Talented People
Our continuing success comes from bringing on outstanding lawyers whose work ethics and values align with the firm’s. If you’d like to join the Howard & Howard team, please submit your resume below.
