I am a litigator who focuses on business and employment law, including trade secret and non-compete litigation.

Ms. Perez focuses her practice on labor and employment, financial services, and general commercial litigation matters.

She regularly counsels clients on a wide range of legal issues relating to business practice and personnel management. Ms. Perez has extensive experience representing securities broker-dealers in connection with litigation matters, including handling disputes involving contract claims, unfair trade practices and unfair competition claims, raiding claims, breach of fiduciary duty and duty of loyalty claims, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has successfully litigated cases, both individually and on trial teams, involving ERISA claims, employment-related issues, and contract disputes in state and federal courts, and in arbitration forums around the country.

Experience

Representative Matters

  • Representation of a financial services firm in multiple arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) against former employees, obtaining awards against the employees on loans provided to them by the firm and denial of all counterclaims.

  • Successfully obtained immediate injunctive relief (TRO and preliminary injunction) to protect clients’ trade secrets and confidential information against employees who violated the terms of their restrictive covenant contracts.
  • Assisted in successfully defending a global medical supply company against allegations of ERISA violations stemming from the investment of that company’s profit-sharing plan in employer securities.
