Ethan assists a number of intellectual property attorneys at Howard & Howard performing various types of patent searches to meet client needs. For example, he performs landscape (State-of-the-Art) searches to assess the patent space surrounding potentially-inventive concepts and ideas. Ethan also executes patentability and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) searches in order to determine patentability and/or risk of litigation. Additionally, with the guidance and assistance of our experienced IP attorneys, he has drafted patent applications for various mechanical, electrical, and robotic inventions. Finally, he has experience with strategizing and drafting responses to office actions received from the USPTO.
