Dunn to the 2014 Class of “40 Under 40.” Since 1991, Crain's Detroit Business has gathered 40 of the community's high achievers for a special salute. Winners are selected by the senior editorial staff of Crain’s based on factors such as financial impact and community leadership. This year's winners launched companies, helped grow established firms, made health care advancements, boosted community engagement and aided veterans. More than 300 nominations were submitted for the 2014 class of 40 Under 40. The goal is to honor the best and brightest in Southeast Michigan who have made their marks in business before age 40. The 2014 Class of “40 under 40,” winners will be profiled in the Oct. 6 issue of Crain's Detroit Business and will be honored at an awards event at the MGM Grand on November 19th.
Mr. Dunn is a trial attorney. He prosecutes and defends business disputes on behalf of automotive suppliers, health care providers, financial institutions, real estate development companies, defense contractors, construction companies, and businesses in a wide variety of other industries. His significant business litigation experience includes supplier-focused automotive litigation, supply chain litigation, business ownership oppression litigation involving business stakeholders, and employment litigation involving non-competition and non-solicitation contract provisions.
Mr. Dunn served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office prior to joining Howard & Howard. He is also a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve JAG Corps, where he has served as a prosecutor and military magistrate for an extended period on active duty. As a civilian and military prosecutor, Mr. Dunn was lead trial counsel on dozens of jury and bench trials, attaining convictions in the great majority. He has completed Army Airborne and Air Assault schools.
Mr. Dunn received his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2005 and his B.A. (Phil), magna cum laude, from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2002. He studied in Ireland at University College Cork.
In 2010, Mr. Dunn served as lead trial counsel for the plaintiff in a fraud case which resulted in a trial verdict of $2,905,000 in favor of the firm's client.
