Mr. McGee concentrates his practice in the area of intellectual property law with a focus on patent preparation, prosecution, and clearance work primarily in the mechanical arts.
Prior to joining Howard & Howard, Mr. McGee worked as an Engineering Consultant and Legal Aide at Trico Products Corporation, where he was responsible for facilitating patent prosecution by conducting prior art searches, determining patentability, etc. In addition, he monitored internal royalty payment and patent maintenance fee schedules, assisted with internal trademark and copyright concerns, and coordinated various litigation-related matters.
While working on his undergraduate degree, he worked in various engineering co-op positions at Stryker Instruments, Stryker Medical, and Associated Spring Barnes Group. Upon graduating, he worked for Associated Spring as a materials science engineer, where he provided exclusive global support to all divisions within the Engineered Spring SBU, assisted customers with quality issues, performed detailed failure analysis, and assisted in new materials research and development. Mr. McGee has broad experience with automotive engine design and performance, forced induction, EFI tuning, etc.
Mr. McGee received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University in 2008 and his J.D., cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan.
