Billy’s practice focuses on the development of clients’ intellectual property portfolios, encompassing a range of technologies. In addition, he advises clients regarding validity, infringement, and enforceability of patents including freedom to operate and patentability opinions.
Billy has worked with clients with significant market presence in the medical, automotive, and manufacturing industries. His technical experience spans the mechanical and electromechanical fields, with a special emphasis on electric vehicle technology.
Billy joined Howard & Howard in 2015 as an intellectual property intern, training to prepare and prosecute patent applications. He attended evening law school classes while maintaining his full-time position with the firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Billy gained industry experience as a powertrain engineer for Roush, where he conducted engine and vehicle development. Billy put his mechanical engineering skills to use diagnosing and solving problems relating to performance, quality, and reliability.
