Mr. Braun concentrates his practice in labor & employment, civil litigation, and financial services.
As a litigator,
he is driven and precise; as a counselor, he strives to keep his clients out of
court, saving them the time, uncertainty, and expense of litigation while still
protecting their interests. Mr. Braun is a seasoned litigator both in court and
in arbitrations providing litigation and counseling in the areas of employment,
restrictive covenants and trade secrets, and business disputes.
Mr. Braun’s work
in the securities industry, with its own unique practices and rules, also
requires substantial knowledge of employment law, particularly regarding areas
of the law where he is highly skilled—non-competition, non-solicitation, and
trade secret issues.

arbitrations on behalf of broker-dealers and registered representatives in employment,
non-solicitation and trade secret, sales practice, and commercial matters;
employment counseling for employers and employees regarding H.R. issues,
including hiring and termination, employment agreements, and business and
employment torts with a focus on avoiding litigation; negotiation of employment
and severance agreements for individuals and businesses; representation of
major corporations, including counseling, negotiating, and supervising of local
counsel, and trying and arbitrating business and employment disputes; and
representation of school administrators in employment disputes.
received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois - Urbana
Champaign College of Law in 1981 and his B.A. from the University of Illinois –
Urbana Champaign in 1978. He is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois,
United States District Court – Central District of Illinois, United States
Supreme Court, United States District Court – Northern District of Illinois
General Bar and Trial Bar, and the United States Court of Appeals.
